Exploring Louisiana’s Cryptids: A Unique Map of Myths and Legends
Season’s greetings to everyone, and best wishes for a prosperous New Year!
I am excited to share my latest project: a detailed map highlighting some of Louisiana’s most intriguing cryptids. The process of selecting which legendary creatures to feature was challenging, especially when it came to the diverse legends around the New Orleans area. Despite the difficulty, I believe the final map offers a fascinating glimpse into the state’s folkloric mysteries.

A note on the Berwick Monster: I included it on the map and want to clarify a common misconception. The Berwick Monster’s photograph may be familiar to some as the inspiration for the infamous Rake creepypasta. However, it’s important to understand that the Rake character was created after the alleged photo was taken in Berwick, Louisiana. The Berwick Monster and the Rake are entirely separate entities, and I believe it’s important to respect the distinction and not conflate the two.
Thank you for your interest in Louisiana’s cryptid folklore. I hope you enjoy exploring the map and learning more about these fascinating legends.
